Most people know their posture is off. Almost nobody knows how — which shoulder sits high, which hip rotates, how far the head has drifted. This check measures it: computer vision maps your joints from four angles and turns them into a posture score plus the exact deviations behind the ache.

A posture score

One number, 0–100%, measuring how closely your shoulders, hips, knees and ankles sit to their designed, stacked position. Most first scores land in the 60s and 70s — and the number moves as you correct.

Your specific deviations, named

Forward head. Rounded shoulders. An elevated hip. A rotated pelvis. The assessment lists what it finds on your frame — which is the difference between "exercise more" and knowing what to correct.

The likely link to your pain

The spot that hurts is rarely the spot that's causing it. Weak, tipped hips overload the lower back; a forward head overloads the neck and shoulders. Your results connect the geometry to the ache.

How the check works

1. Answer a short questionnaire. Where it hurts, when it started, what you've tried, how you sit and sleep. This frames what the photos show.

2. Take four photos. Front, back, left, right — phone propped up or a helper, normal form-fitting clothes. Two minutes, at home.

3. Computer vision maps your joints. The system finds your landmarks — ears, shoulders, hips, knees, ankles — and measures the angles and offsets between them across each view.

4. You get your score and deviation list. Plus what each deviation typically does to the body over time, and — if you want it — a corrective exercise program built for your specific pattern, about 15 minutes a day.

Why photos and not an MRI? An MRI shows one slice of damage in the spot that already hurts. A posture photo shows the geometry that has been creating that damage. You can't see a bulging disc in a photo — but you can see the tipped pelvis and collapsed stance that spent a decade pressing on it.

The approach behind it, tested in a randomized trial

The assessment isn't a gimmick bolted onto generic stretches — it's the front door to individualized posture therapy, an approach tested head-to-head against usual medical care in the SPINE CARE randomized clinical trial, published in JAMA (2022). Participants receiving individualized postural therapy reported greater improvement in pain and disability than those receiving usual care — 46% greater pain improvement at three months and 77% greater at one year. A 2017 Stanford CERC pilot found a 31% average pain reduction over two months of posture-therapy referrals, with 73% of patients rating the exercises "very easy" to follow.

Honest scope: posture therapy is non-medical. It corrects muscular alignment; it does not diagnose or treat disease, and it's not a fit for fresh injuries, fractures, congenital conditions, or active illness. If that's your situation, see a clinician first.
